Island Breeze Andros For Sale

Mo and Butch Bennett would like to welcome you to Island Breeze, our home in the Bahamas, named for the beautiful year round breezes, located in the settlement of Victoria Point on the southern coastline of Mangrove Cay, Andros, our home overlooks the South Bight and the Great Andros Barrier Reef the third largest barrier reef in the world.

Mo and I first visited Mangrove Cay in 1982, two friends John and Doris Dolak had a vacation home on Mangrove Cay that they shared with two other friends and were kind enough to introduce us to the island.  It was love at first sight, we immediately feel in love with everything about the island, the people, the peace and tranquility, the beautiful greenish blue water, the many friends we made both Bahamian and visitors from all over the world.

After twenty eight years of coming to Mangrove Cay I still get chocked up at the first sight of the island as I fly into Mangrove Cay airport.  Where else in the world can a foreigner be greeted by welcome home when they first arrive on the island.

Mo and I have spent many happy years going to Mangrove Cay, unfortunately Mo has a number of health issues that make it very difficult for us to continue visiting the place we love the most.  Our house offers the person that buys it the ability to get off the plane in Mangrove Cay airport, drive to the house , open the door, and have everything they need without doing a thing other then when they feel like it make any changes they would like to make.  We intend to leave all the furniture; appliances, including washing machine and dryer, electric stove, refrigerator, upright freezer, window air conditioners in each bedroom as well as the living room, Casablanca ceiling fans in each room, Weber Gas Grill, outside furniture, Directv satellite TV system, and a van that we keep in our shop and garage, when we sell the house.  The other important aspect of our home is location, location, location, the South Bite is the best spot on the island, and even in the summer months because we face to the southeast we have the trade winds to keep us cool.  If you are into to socializing, again our home is the place to be.  We have a ¾ acre piece of property with clear title, 150 feet of our property is on the sea over looking the third largest barrier reef in the world and the South Bight; the property is protected by a four foot high sea wall to protect against erosion.  We are asking $350,000 for our home that is the asking price, we will entertain any reasonable offer.  Go to the Island Breeze House Pictures page on our website to see pictures of our beautiful home.

We have what I feel is one of the best neighborhoods on the island with neighbors from Bermuda, the United States, Norway, and the UK, the location is great, the neighbors are great, all though I am not a fisherman or diver I know from my neighbors the fishing and diving are great.  The other important aspect of our home is location, location, location, the South Bite is the best spot on the island, and even in the summer months because we face to the southeast we have the trade winds to keep us cool.

Most of my friends spend much of their time fishing, diving, and socializing.  My neighbors and friends Bob and Klaus are avid fisherman, fishing for Mai-Mai, Grouper, Wahoo, Barracuda, and Tuna; they are always very generous with their catch and share their good fortune with their friends as well as many of the people that live on Mangrove Cay.  Depending on the wind and the seas they typically fish on the reef when the seas are calm or in the South Bight when the seas are rough.  Bob and Klaus also enjoy diving in the bight and the blue holes for Hogfish, Crawfish and Conch.  Klaus can free dive to over thirty feet and wrestle a large fish he spears to the surface and into the boat.

Ask any bone fisherman and he will tell you Andros Island is the bone fishing capital of the world and Mangrove Cay is the best spot on Andros to catch bonefish.  With easy access to the North Bite, Middle Bite, and South Bite Mangrove Cay is a bone fishing paradise.
